The “seep hunting” technique, used to indicate the presence of deep oil and gas reservoirs through seabed mapping—reducing exploration risks and associated costs—was one of the topics recently presented by our geoscience and subsea commercial director, Fred Marins, in partnership with BPS, with which OceanPact has been developing projects for different companies in the global oil and gas industry.
Marins took part in a panel discussion on the Lüderitz Basin and the next exploration frontier during the 2026 Namibia International Energy Conference in the African country, which has been establishing itself as one of the new energy hubs on the international stage.
“The Lüderitz Basin shows geological parallels with other global exploration areas where we already operate. I can say that we are prepared to apply our knowledge to enable safe, sustainable and efficient operations in this new offshore frontier,” he said.
