OceanPact attends Amazon Energy in run-up to COP30

OceanPact took part in one of the foremost discussion forums on the future of energy in Brazil, Amazon Energy, held by the Brazilian Oil and Gas Institute (IBP) on June 25 and 26 in Belém, Pará. The event brought together the governor of Amapá, Petrobras executives and the president of the Pará State Federation of Industry, among other officials and leaders from the region and the sector.

During a panel called “The Supply Chain for Equatorial Margin Projects,” Érik Cunha, OceanPact’s commercial and marketing director, presented the company’s activities in the area of environmental emergency response, highlighting its expertise in preventing and mitigating impacts in sensitive areas like the Equatorial Margin.

“The Equatorial Margin represents a strategic opportunity for the expansion of the oil and gas sector, but it is essential for this development to take place in an environmentally responsible and technically efficient way,” he said.

He also shared initiatives focused on innovation, in particular OceanPact Digital, a platform that integrates data intelligence, technology and predictive analytics to support decision making in offshore operations.

“Through solutions such as OceanPact Digital, we are developing more sustainable operating models and integrating innovation with the experience we have gained in responding to environmental emergencies over the years,” he added.

As part of the expansion of its presence in the region, OceanPact recently opened an office in Guyana, a neighboring country to Brazil that is consolidating its position as one of South America’s new energy frontiers.

Amazon Energy was held in the run-up to the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30), which will take place in November, also in Belém. COP30 will represent a historic milestone for Brazil and the Amazon region, globally highlighting the importance of the Amazon Rainforest and its production chains for the planet’s climate balance.
