“Remote operations are ushering in a new era. The future of offshore operations is on land,” said Leonardo Barreira, OceanPact Tech’s technology director, at a workshop called “Port and Oil Hydrography,” held by the Brazilian Marine Geology and Geophysics Program during the seventh Brazilian Marine Geology and Geophysics Symposium, which took place last week in Vitória, Espírito Santo.
Barreira presented how OceanPact Tech has been developing solutions that expand automation and digitalization in maritime and environmental activities, highlighting the role of remote operations in the hydrographic and offshore industries to reduce risks, improve efficiency and support more sustainable operations.
Based at the Rio de Janeiro Federal University Technology Park, OceanPact Tech is one of the company’s business units, focused on technological and automation solutions to enable safer, more efficient and more sustainable work at sea, including uncrewed vessels, integrated sensors, drones, underwater robots and a Remote Operations Center.
