OceanPact launches SeaSpot meteorological and oceanographic forecasting app during 2025 Búzios Sailing Week

As part of 2025 Búzios Sailing Week, Armação de Búzios Yacht Club on Ossos Beach, Rio de Janeiro State will host the Brazilian Ocean Sailing Championship from April 17 to 20. OceanPact, a leader in ocean knowledge and a supporter of nautical sports, is sponsoring the event, and will officially launch SeaSpot – its new meteorological and oceanographic forecasting app – during the competition.

SeaSpot provides meteorological and oceanographic forecasts for beaches along the Brazilian coast, from Santa Catarina to Espírito Santo, using models developed by partner company AtmosMarine. Whenever possible, SeaSpot also shows public data collected from oceanographic buoys and weather stations, as well as bathing condition reports. Users can track data related to wind speed and direction, swell size and direction, tides, and ultraviolet radiation, helping teams sail more strategically and safely.

During the championship, competitors will receive daily bulletins from AtmosMarine. The public can also access information on SeaSpot, which is available for Android and iOS phones.

The races will be broadcast live on a big screen at the event venue via OceanPact Digital, using drone footage and smartphone tracking data, bringing spectators even closer to the competitions. To enable this coverage, each boat will be equipped with an Android phone running OceanPact’s Tracker app. By enabling this app, the boats’ data will be monitored and shared in real time on OceanPact Digital, as part of the live coverage.

Adding to the excitement, OceanPact will face off against Energisa (a major Brazilian energy group) in a special corporate race, featuring professional sailors and executives from both companies.

Download SeaSpot today from your smartphone’s app store and receive ocean forecasts in the palm of your hand. Sail with enhanced safety, strategy and awareness.
