OceanPact signs marine environmental monitoring contracts with Petrobras worth over R$700 million

OceanPact has signed two contracts with Petrobras, worth more than R$700 million, to perform marine environmental monitoring services in locations of interest to the oil company.

The contracts were signed following a competitive bidding process governed by Brazil’s State-Owned Enterprise Law (Law 13,303 of 2016). They cover the collection of environmental samples (water, biota and sediments) and the acquisition of meteorological and oceanographic data to support Petrobras’ environmental characterization and monitoring projects.

The first contract, with a duration of three years, will cover all geographical areas of interest to Petrobras. The second, with a duration of one year, will focus on the Equatorial Margin region along the northern coast of Brazil.

The projects will be conducted by OceanPact Geociências, an OceanPact subsidiary specializing in environmental, oceanographic and geological surveys.
