After supporting sailing and surfing championships and regattas, and helping athletes better understand maritime conditions to improve their performance throughout 2025 through its SeaSpot app, OceanPact is expanding its involvement and partnerships in ocean and beach activities across the state of Rio de Janeiro this year. On January 25, we will be at the 2026 King and Queen of the Sea (Rei e Rainha do Mar), Brazil’s largest open-water swimming competition, starting with the Saquarema leg at Vila Beach.
The competition will feature open-water swimming races, beach running and beach biathlon events, with categories for adults and children, drawing professional and amateur athletes and whole families to experience life by the sea. The initiative reinforces OceanPact’s connection with the ocean and with events that promote sport, safety and responsible coexistence with the marine environment.
In addition to the Saquarema leg, OceanPact will take part in the Queen of the Sea (Rainha do Mar), an amateur women’s event on March 15 at Copacabana Beach, and in the final leg of the King and Queen of the Sea on December 12 and 13, also at Copacabana.
