• Implementation of Incident Command System (ICS)

We are the leading specialists in the Incident Command System (ICS) in Latin America, and we have a team qualified to conduct training in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.

In the last few years, we have conducted more than 400 events - approximately 300 ICS courses and 100 drills - involving more than 10.000 professionals. Such events, of various sizes, were held either in person or remotely.

We are responsible for training all Petrobras Business Units in ICS methodology since 2014, and this contract extends until 2022. We provide customized training, planning and drills of various sizes, including the participation of Government Agencies and Entities such as Ibama, Brazilian Navy, ANP, Civil Defense and state environmental agencies.

• Development of emergency plans

Our team is highly experienced and specialized in the preparation of emergency plans for different installations and scenarios, in compliance with legal requirements, the demand for environmental permitting processes or even on a voluntary initiative, to ensure an efficient and effective response in the face of mapped accidental scenarios. Main plans developed: Personal Emergency Plan (PEP), Emergency Action Plan (EAP), Emergency Response Plan (ERP), Mutual Assistance Program (MAP) and Area Plan.

Our differential consists in combining, within the same Group, deep theoretical knowledge from the consultancy team and the hands-on experience from the management and operation of emergency response, giving our emergency plans a very practical and easy to implement perspective. We know how to do it and we transfer that knowledge to the plans.

• Emergency and crisis management

OceanPact operates across the full range of emergency and crisis lifecycle services. We operate from planning, training and simulation of response exercises to the management and execution of real world crises and emergencies. Our experience in emergency management is quite extensive, given that we have been involved in responding to various emergencies in Brazil and abroad. Our joint-venture with the American Witt O'Brien's, the world leader in emergency response management, is the unit that performs the consulting and management services, using all the experience of our partners, combined with our practical experience and knowledge of Brazilian particularities.

• Operation of Oceanographic Research Vessels (RV)

One of OceanPact's greatest differentials is to offer the most modern and well-equipped fleet of survey vessels in Brazil. We have four vessels equipped with all the necessary assets and equipment to carry out oceanographic and environmental surveys. Vessels are also equipped with offshore laboratories for analysis of the collected samples, ensuring agility in the results.

• Wave and current measurements

OceanPact employs the largest inventory of MetOcean equipment in the South Atlantic, including buoys, mooring systems, drifters and hull or bottom mounted ADCPs to acquire Metocean data such as wind, waves, currents, temperatures, salinity and other physical proprieties of the sea.

We carry out the installation and maintenance of buoys and oceanographic anchor cables for data collection and their availability in real time.

• Environmental Surveys

The complete solution for the environmental permitting of offshore projects involves the collection of water samples for analysis of their physical and chemical parameters, sediment and marine biota, laboratory tests and preparation of the environmental diagnosis report. All of these steps are offered in an integrated manner by OceanPact, to ensure the quality standard required by regulatory agencies.

• Habitats Assessment

By using non-invasive methods, imaging of submarine habitats is essential to reconcile offshore projects with the preservation of marine life, especially in environmentally sensitive areas. We carry out this imaging using both ROVs and underwater cameras.

• Marine Wildlife

During offshore operations, it is essential to monitor the transit of birds, chelonians, sirenians and marine mammals. For this, we provide specialized professionals to observe marine wildlife and implement mitigation programs by interrupting operations until the security zone is re-established.

• Acoustic monitoring and submarine acoustic landscape

Offshore operations emit sound waves in the oceans. Marine mammals use sound as their main form of communication, which can be harmed without proper acoustic monitoring. Our team of specialists operates modern marine mammal click and whistle detection systems (PAMS) on board of seismic vessels, drilling platforms or vessels of opportunity. For submarine acoustic landscape studies and for understanding the influence of offshore operations on marine life, we have created solutions that involve the installation of mooring lines with hydrophones, and the operation of sea gliders capable of detecting sounds and noises.

• Offshore wind potential assessment

The energy potential of the ocean goes far beyond petroleum. In the future, offshore wind generation will be one of the main sources of energy. To assess this potential, we install and maintain oceanographic buoys coupled with LiDAR systems, which represent the state of the art in measuring intensity and variability of winds up to 300m in height. Thus, we are able to determine the best location for the construction of wind farms to optimize energy generation.

• Studies for environmental permitting

Environmental permitting is a legal requirement for the installation and operation of any enterprise or activity that could harm the environment. Our multidisciplinary team has experience in conducting all phases of environmental permitting for projects of different types and sizes.

In addition to the preparation of technical studies that support the decision-making process of environmental authorities and the issuance of environmental licenses and their conditions, our team acts in the planning and management of the entire process, including interaction with stakeholders: environmental and other governmental agencies and institutions involved, local communities and neighbouring developments.

• Management and execution of socio-environmental programs

We have a specialized team for the execution of the main social and environmental programs required in the permitting processes, for monitoring, preventing, mitigating or even offsetting the impacts of the licensed development. In addition to executing the programs, we provide environmental program planning and management for our clients, aiming to ensure full compliance with environmental conditions, as well as in the interpretation, critical and integrated analysis of socio-environmental quality and the effectiveness of the proposed programs.

• Environmental monitoring (air, water, noise and vibrations, soil, effluents, fauna and flora)

Our multidisciplinary team operates OceanPact's extensive fleet of vessels, vehicles and equipment to offer customers an integrated solution in terms of environmental monitoring. They can be carried out in a marine environment (in oceanic and coastal areas), in inland waters and in the terrestrial environment. We have a wide geographical distribution, a relevant factor that allows us to carry out monitoring of different disciplines using our own resources in the vicinity of the region of interest.
